barren hillsides to luscious coastal forest. Experience the impact of Cape Sanctuary's conservation efforts in real-time through up-close encounters with takahe and kakariki. Travel high above the Ocean Beach Cliffs, and greet the all-encompassing view of our coastline as you enter our pest-free slice of paradise, the 'sea bird site'. Learn about Cape Sanctuary's nationally significant sand-dune restoration, coastal re-vegetation, species translocation and leading sea-bird restoration projects with a well-deserved drink on the panoramic verandah of our newly built hut. Experience one of Hawke's Bay's best kept secrets in this three hour journey!

This is a 3 hour tour from Ocean Beach.  

Tour can be started from Gannet Safaris Overland base, 369 Clifton Road, Te Awanga or Ocean Beach side

Transfers can also be arranged.

Fitness level of light walking required and able to manage sloping terrain.

Tours will not run if weather is or conditions are too wet, windy or any other reason which threatens the safety of guests ans staff.  Cancellations will be made by 7.30am on the day of the tour is needed.
